Piano Works Written For Movies

Air date:

This week on The Score, with Edmund Stone, we enjoy a few great piano compositions specially created for movies that now have a life of their own as classical works, including The Warsaw Concerto, The Spellbound Concerto, Legend of the Glass Mountain, Cornish Rhapsody and more.

This show is an encore presentation of The Score 369. We will have new shows in February.

One Response to “Piano Works Written For Movies”

  1. Anne Greco

I am a classical music lover and listen to your show every week on my favorite radio station WXXI 91.5 in Rochester, New York. I absolutely loved your show today on “Piano Works for the Movies”. I have the CD with four out of the ten concertos you played today. The Warsaw Concerto (Addinsell) and Cornish Rhapsody (Hubert Bath) are two of my favorites and I am learning to play both of these pieces on the piano as I have ordered the sheet music for them . Thank you so much for playing them today along with The Dream of Olwen and Spellbound Concerto. I was especially happy as I got to hear them twice on the same day as your program airs at 10am and 6pm on WXXI! I’m looking forward to many more enjoyable hours of music on “The Score”. My best to you.
